Design

For the G Series M2, M3 and M4 we have taken full advantage of improving the intake system by not just re designing and replacing the intake but also larger turbo inlets.

In addition to this we have created 3 Cold Air Feeds per side as opposed to the single frontal air feed of the OEM system.

The first feed comes from the frontal factory air inlet.  The second is a frontal air feed which are located in a region where we tested only ambient air reaches.  The third and final feeds are the most interesting. 

This design strategy ensures the maximum amount of air at the lowest possible intake temperature. The final result is a stunning under bonnet appearance matched with a more eager and smoother throttle response.  More torque available faster and an intake sound which is sophisticated and pronounced under load.





CFD Analysis

As with all of our designs we use computational fluid dynamics analysis (CFD Analysis).
The results show a smooth non turbulent air flow with the filter which straights out the air and allows the venturi inlet tube to draw in large amounts of air at high speed and both act independently and create what is effectively the largest velocity stack of any intake system on the market.

ENLARGED TURBO INLETS

The flared out turbo inlets are significantly larger than the stock units and are designed to smooth out and increase air speed into the turbo impellers.

TRIPLE AIR FEED

We have spent a significant amount of time designing our air ducts and optimising them beyond the norm by having three cold air feeds. 

The result is a system which matches the factory intake system for inlet temperatures.

High Flow Air Filters & Intake Temperatures

Our bespoke short stack high surface area filter larger than any cone filter design currently on offer on the market with a huge opening of 170mm (6 3/4") and is designed to take full advantage of the intake tubes by altering the direction of the airflow towards the outer walls.  By placing the air filters in front of the inlet tube we achieve the largest velocity stack.

PERFORMANCE TESTING

Dyno tests were performed under strict controlled conditions on an independent Dyno Dynamics machine in order to show a true and realistic result.

A healthy and genuine increase of  12-16hp | 10-15 lb.ft from 5500-7000rpm with a much faster turbo spool up time at lower rpm with a small increase in midrange power from 4200-5000rpm.The results shown are the highest stock result (run 7) vs the first run immediately after fitting the intake (run 8).
